Want to know how my book illustrations get started? I begin all my book illustrations with pencil drawings.
And, of course, with each new illustration, the pencil needs sharpening (one of my delaying tacics) before any drawing can begin. I do finally get around to the finished drawing – ready to ink, scan and become part of my book.
